Initiative & Innovation Keeps the Learning Exciting & Engaging!

We were excited to return from Spring Break and see the daffodils emerging. Signs of spring are emerging all around us!

Author Peter Brown will soon be at Dryden! We can't wait to welcome him this Tuesday. Everyone has been busy reading and discussing his books. It's always so interesting to learn how an author develops their craft. You can learn more about Peter Brown and his books here

We are so proud of the work of our 5th grade students on their service project. They are overseeing the entire process of collecting pet supplies to benefit  The Buddy Foundation and Kay's Animal Shelter. They have created posted, decorated collection boxes, made public service announcements, and are keeping an inventory of their collections. Donations can be dropped off at Dryden through April 13.

Eagle Scout candidate and former Dryden student, Michael Kosinski, was honored at the Board of Education this past Thursday. His leadership and initiative brought about the construction of this beautiful seating area and collection of children's books to enhance the warmth and welcoming environment of our school office. We are very grateful for his service to Dryden!

Several Dryden teachers were recognized and celebrated for obtaining ABC/25 grants to benefit student learning. Their grants brought straw rockets, Break-out EDU, Art-bots, Bee-bots, document cameras, bridge-building kits, Osmo technology and dramatic play materials to Dryden students.

Proceeds from the ABC/25 Just Move It! Challenge 5K Run / 1 Mile Run-Walk will go towards future teacher grants. This event takes place on Saturday, April 22 at 8:00 AM at South Middle School. We would love to see the whole Dryden community participate and support ABC/25. You can sign up to run, walk or volunteer here.

It's been a great week back to school after spring break! Thanks to our caring and innovative teachers, our students have been engaged in so many interactive, hands-on learning activities. The students are so proud of their work! Rightfully so!
