Out and About

One of the best parts of my job is being out and about our school. Joy, admiration and appreciation for the work and activities of our students and staff always fill my heart and inspires me in all aspects of my work as Dryden's principal.

It is impressive to see how students' initial class-created posters that included their discoveries about factors and multiples were then used as helpful references as they delved deeper into applying their understandings about these concepts related to specific numbers.

Baseball fever struck Dryden as the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers competed to be division champs! It was fun to see the excitement among the children and the friendly rivalry among the Brewers and Cubs fans on our staff.

Author Megan McDonald is coming to Dryden next week! In the LMC, our students have been learning about her books and life as an author. They enjoyed drawing a famous story character, Judy Moody, and formed questions to ask the author when she comes to Dryden.

We expressed our gratitude to Mr. Bob and Mr. Ron on National School Custodian Appreciation Day! They do so much to keep our school safe, clean and in good working order!

Our older students can be such great role models for our younger students. Through their Personalized Learning experiences, these two girls taught a science experiment to younger students. It was great to see how they carefully planned, organized and executed this lesson! And it was great to see the wonder and excitement of our younger students!

There was a lot of rain this week. Fortunately, the weather held out so that we could enjoy Walk to School Day together! It was so great to see so many students, families and staff members enjoying the fresh air and exercise together!

And we celebrated our Student Council's Backwards Day, too! It was and funny to see one another with our shirts and hats on backward while at school! What great school spirit there is!
