Active Involvement

One of the characteristics that make Dryden such a wonderful school is the active involvement of our students, staff and families.

Students were actively involved in preparing for Curriculum Night. Second grade students created self-portraits with QR codes linked to voice recordings welcoming their parents and sharing their personal learning goals for the year.

The PTA is actively involved in supporting our families and teachers. They are currently promoting the Fall Fun Fest and Parents Night Out events to socially connect our students and families. The supportive relationships of our families benefit the children all through their schooling.

Our LMC is actively involved in promoting a love of reading in school and at home. The Hook-A-Book program shares enriching literature with families and helps the LMC acquire new books for the school.

Parents were actively involved in learning about their children's teachers, school programs and district curriculum at Curriculum Night. They learned about personalized learning, reading workshop, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) opportunties, social-emotional learning, field trips and more!

Our school community was actively involved in remembering 9/11. Mr. Deptula actively led us in a patriotic sing-along by our flagpole to pay tribute to those who served on a very sad day in our nation's history. Listening to the children sing "This Land Is Your Land, This Land Is My Land" warmed our hearts. At Dryden we actively focus on doing good deeds and showing kindness in order to express our gratitude for those in service professions and to bring hope for a brighter future.
