Fun in the Sun!

As we wrap up our last week of school, we have been so fortunate to spend time outdoors with our friends on these beautiful, sunny days. Thanks to over 100 PTA volunteers, we had a very successful and fun Field Day! The joys of teamwork, friendly competition and learning new games made this day extra-special. The children will treasure memories of this day with friends and family for many years to come.

Julie Jurgens, the School Services Coordinator from the Arlington Heights Memorial Library came to Dryden this week. Miss Julie entertained students by reading aloud and involving them in dramatizing, singing and dancing. She encouraged our students to get involved in the library's summer reading program. Children get to set their own reading goals, and they receive incentives for reaching their goals. The library has planned several special events, such as a Pirate Party, for children to enjoy. You can find more information on their website at www.ahml.info. Summer is the perfect time to get lost in a book and go on a reading adventure!
